Position Summary

This position is part of the People Services US/Puerto Rico benefits team and has responsibility for providing proactive and personalized support and guidance to employees during transition points in the employee life cycle. (e.g.: retirement, new executive appointment, involuntary exit, survivor support.)

This role will be the main contact person for escalations raised to Executives and will act as a liaison with the People Services teams to bring escalations to a prompt resolution.

Total Rewards Center of Expertise, People Services Capability Center, Total Rewards Operations teams, Payroll, Vendor Management, and third-party partners and vendors.

Detailed Position Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert for US/PR benefits, savings, retirement benefits and overall process for onboarding and retirement.

  • Proactively, provides information to employees who are planning to retire and help them navigate the benefits processes for a successful retirement.

  • Reach out to new hire Executives and provide onboarding benefit information to ensure they make all the benefit decisions in a timely manner and understand the benefits offerings from BMS.

  • Follow up with vendors for escalations, updates and requests and identify further areas of improvement to reduce future issues.

  • Maintain open communication with operations and Capability Center partners to understand changes and challenges that may impact this population. (e.g: Updates in the W-2s)

  • Document escalations in the system, keeps track and responds promptly to inquiries.

  • Act as a liaison with third party vendor partners, People Services, Benefit Services, Fidelity, AYCO and carriers to quickly resolve employees inquires or issues.

  • Participates in the development and maintenance of the operational design for end-to-end employee life cycle processes and collaborates in process improvement initiatives.

  • Run reports and retain records of employees and support provided.

Experience Desired

  • BS, BA or graduate degree in business or a related degree required

  • 3+ years’ experience in human resources service delivery, call center or shared service environment required.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting US benefits administration or operations.

  • Demonstrated deep functional knowledge of US Medicare requirements, and retirement.

  • Working functional knowledge of US Health & Welfare Insured benefits operations, required.

  • Acts with a sense of urgency and drive issues through to completion coupled with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage /prioritize multiple activities

  • Proven experience exercising independent judgement and discretion utilizing company policies and principles, knowing when to escalate

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to identify and solve complex problems and challenges; successfully manage deadlines for projects and multiple competing tasks and priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, sense of urgency and customer service orientation.

  • Experience working with current BMS HR enabling systems: Workday, ServiceNow

  • Experience working in a call center or customer service position.
