Bristol Myers Squibb Technical Architect - SAP in Princeton, New Jersey
Responsible for the Design and Governance of the Technical Operational Processes and Architecture for the SAP System. This includes Hosting (AWS) , Platform Engineering, Software Engineering (Basis), Back Up and Recovery, Security Architecture (Application and Cyber) for Hardening of SAP system, and Audit Support
Execute on both BUILD (development) and RUN (support) through diligent planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, creative leveraging of partner resources and capabilities, and efficient decision making to drive business outcomes.
Work with Platform Architect and Emerging Technologies Lead to integrate new technologies or SAP components into the Architecture.
Provide support to the Application Teams to understand technical architecture details / requirements for BUILD projects
Communicate all outages (planned) in a timely fashion
Develop a strong Digital Capability Management team that can drive success and ensure robust pipeline of future talent.
Build strong inter-personal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders that can help with the smooth implementation of new applications/capabilities and technologies related to the SAP systems and applications.
Ensure compliance of system to regulatory requirements.
Tightly govern and provide oversight to the team to manage both the RUN budget and specific investment budgets.
Drive continuous improvement across the team and IT operations to drive decreasing TCO.
Provide insight for possible improvements to the SAP IT Operations process. (Security, Back Up and Recovery, High Availability, Disaster Recover, Hosting, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering)
Collaborate with the Platform Architect and Emerging Technology leads to drive adoption of new technologies and architecture to position the SAP platform to align to BMS’ long-term needs, drive lower TCO, and provide a superior user experience.

Strong working knowledge of SAP Architecture across the SAP landscape
Support all necessary audit and inspections by satisfying information requests on a timely basis
Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP Basis, SAP ABAP/4, SAP Security and GRC, Integration (BDC Sessions, IDOCS, Web Services, RFC etc..), Network, Amazon Web Services, and License Management
Experience in a full life cycle implementation of very large SAP landscape is preferred
Experience maintaining and optimizing SAP architecture to ensure uptime, performance, and stability.
Experience leveraging partner organizations to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Experience managing project personnel and budgets.
Experience managing projects from a technical perspective to include build/upgrade/patch of servers/SAP instances/Databases through the landscape
Experience managing several projects from a technical point simultaneously
Experience managing a team of direct and partner resources.
Strong collaboration with SAP, DXC, and Accenture to understand and instantiate new practices.
Manage a globally dispersed team
Manage / provide direction to, a matrix team including Strategic Partner resources.
Manage budget for and all RUN demand for Development team including approvals.
Experience setting and governing standards for development in a FDA and GxP regulated environment.
Ability to influence Associate Director / Director / Senior Director level with presentations and written communications
Develop and manage stakeholder communications for team
Understands pharmaceutical industry dynamics – proactively applies this knowledge when making decisions
