Position Summary

A strong marketer and leader with outstanding customer focus to help grow the Opdivo business in NSCLC and lead the launch of new indications in NSCLC and Meso. The Director of Professional Promotions will drive the promotion of Opdivo to healthcare practitioners in the treatment of NSCLC and partner with a range of key internal and external stakeholders. This individual will have point responsibilities for Opdivo marketing working with the WWT providing critical US insights into the future landscape as well as work across the matrix and be responsible for developing and executing the strategic and brand plan. In addition, this individual will ensure brand and company readiness for competitive entrants, and work closely with the matrix team to execute on important milestone.

Your Team

The Opdivo Director of Professional Promotions reports to the Thoracic Brand Lead within the Solid Tumor organization in US Oncology and works collaboratively across a matrix organization inclusive of Sales & Sales Training, Access Strategy, Medical Strategy, Business Insights & Analytics, Worldwide Commercial, GCR, Legal, and Promotion Integrity. There will be 3 marketing leaders reporting to this individual.

Primary responsibilities

Build BMS I-O Leadership in SCCHN through the development of a customer focused, differentiated communication platform

Develop junior marketers on the team and promote them to right next assignments

Deliver results in line with product/business plan and company goals

Develop and deliver a clear marketing strategy and plans and provide active marketing direction and support to the field force to ensure excellence in implementation

Effectively analyze customer insights, brand performance, market trends, & competitive response to inform strategic plan which addresses key challenges and capitalizes on prioritized business opportunities.

Manage promotional spend and coordination of investments across functions to drive brand performance

Lead the cross-functional matrix team to identify business opportunities and issues and develop multi-channel action plans and contingencies accordingly

Build and maintain excellent stakeholder networks and relationships internally and externally to drive the business forward. Place customers at the center in addressing needs and finding business solutions. Foster team effectiveness and accomplishment of shared goals by sharing knowledge, experience and insights

Ensure business objectives and practices are fully compliant with relevant laws, regulations and BMS standards of business conduct and ethics.

Provide commercial input to optimize the brand’s US prescribing information.


MBA or other Advanced Degree Preferred.

Minimum of 6-8 years of pharmaceutical experience with a minimum of 5 years of marketing experience.

Prior Health Care Practitioner marketing experience with demonstrated expertise in customer focus, insight mining, message development, marketing analytics and excellence in execution.

Proven track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance within a matrix organization with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to develop and manage strong customer relationships

Understanding/ experience of the (Immuno)-oncology marketplace and Multiple Myeloma is helpful but not required.

Willing to travel up to 25%
