Bristol Myers Squibb Associate Director, Oncology Analytics in Princeton, New Jersey

Purpose/Objective of the job:

• Implements a broad array of business analytics for key stakeholders within the US Oncology organization

• Brand Teams - areas of responsibility include:

o Customer Segmentation and Sales Targeting

o Resource Allocation

o Enablement of Forecasting and Multi-Channel Analytics

o Business Performance

 Drives the application of fact based decision making for the US Oncology business related to the assigned tumor types

 Ensures best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability and subject matter expertise to address business questions

 Designs and executes market/business analysis to improve value to our patients through deepened market understanding and practical application

 Proactively manages flow of planned and ad hoc analytics requests, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness in delivery to business stakeholders

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

  • Drives business performance (reporting), customer segmentation, resource allocation, multi-channel analytics, and ad-hoc analytics supporting in-market brand leadership and country strategy/operations partners

  • Supports forecasting enablement consistent with the financial planning calendar and ad-hoc business need

  • Leverages standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision making processes, and utilizes analytics escalation processes

  • Provides input/feedback to improve and enhance capabilities related to analytics deliverables including support of innovative data sources

  • Manage ambiguity by questioning data and/or stakeholder for further nuanced information. Ability to operate on less than perfect data, by having a sound logical framework. Can develop new ways of thinking about a problem, in order to provide an effective solution

  • Supports culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches to deliver analytics across the current and expected indications/tumors

  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of business priorities, meeting agreed upon analytics deliverables/timing

  • Effectively collaborates with a broad set of cross functional counterparts (including Strategy & Operations Leads, Brand Leadership, CEC, MR, Sales Operations, Medical and Finance) to achieve organizational objectives

  • Partners effectively with Market Research, enabling a transparent, inclusive and thought diverse environment of knowledge sharing

  • Assists markets ex-US, when necessary,on Analytics related activities

  • Developsseamless, collaborative, cross-functionalapproaches to problemsolving and holistic cross-customer analysis

  • Collaborates with othermembersof BI&A to ensuretheconsistentapplicationof team vision across capabilities and services

  • Manages and executes workload prioritization across analytics, leveraging otherteams within BI&A and across BMS to successfullyachievebusinessobjectives

  • Understands,demonstrates, and drives adherence to all BMS operating policies

Role Requirement:

  • BA/BS required (quantitative area of studypreferred)

  • 5+ Years Pharmaceutical Experience

  • Extensiveexperience in the application of advancedanalytics and reporting techniques to solve businessproblems

  • Strong knowledge and Hands-on experience of secondaryhealthcaredata (ie: EMR, Claims, Sales, etc.)

  • Preferred experience working in the therapeutic area of Oncology

  • Experienceinterpretingmarkets and ascertaining implications to thebusiness

  • Experienceoperatingsuccessfully in a complex organizationalenvironment

  • Experienceinteracting with senior management, understanding,anticipating, and fulfillingtheirinsight/analyticalinformation requirements

  • Draw inferences fromdisparatepieces of data,identifykeyfindings and linktoimplications and providerecommendations

  • Strong creative problem solving skills to answer key businessquestions

  • Strongproject management skillswithdemonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

  • Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of national & subnationaldata analysis; applied statistics

  • Strong written and verbal communicationskills

  • Ability to quickly gain and apply therapeutic knowledge
