Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Portfolio Management Insights and Reporting, plays an important role in developing metrics and reports crucial for strategic decision-making within the drug development portfolio, as well as for the internal and external R&D pipeline execution reporting. As a key contributor to Portfolio Strategy Implementation & Reporting team, the successful candidate will lead and support the portfolio information gathering in collaboration with Portfolio & Strategic Operations Leads, BI&A, Investor Relations, to generate fit-for-purpose insights for internal audience, including senior leadership (DDLT, TA leadership, HOCT/ICN Program Leadership), and external reporting. This position requires a high degree of data acumen and familiarity across operational planning dataset such as financial, clinical trial operations, drug development pipeline, and resource management. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of drug development, coupled with data science, to recommend tools and techniques that enable data-driven decisions, operational planning insights, and effective risk management, ultimately enhancing productivity across drug development. Additionally, as a key contributor to portfolio reporting, this position will support in the planning, preparation and reporting of the drug development portfolio.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Drug Development Portfolio Strategy Implementation and Reporting, supporting with internal and external drug development portfolio reporting and reporting solutions, and supports Drug Development Portfolio Management Insights.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management Insights

Supports generation of the Operational Portfolio execution Insights to Global Program Teams (GPTs), HOCT/ICN Program leadership for 'must deliver' programs to drive effective portfolio risk management

  • Develops and delivers clear and concise presentations of analytics and corresponding insights to address specific business needs.

  • Contributes to reporting cadence that supports Portfolio Operations discussions at DDLT, Program Leadership, and TA leadership

  • Develops quarterly portfolio reporting insights for early and late sub-portfolios

  • Supports rollout of leading risk indicators framework to Drug Development portfolio, including risk visualization views

  • Collaborates with multiple stakeholders to ensure a high-level of team involvement in key business discussions, produces scheduled 'ad hoc' reports to address analytical requests

  • Executes insights and reporting activities flawlessly to drive business and pipeline success. Drives automation for portfolio reporting views, minimizing manual reporting over time

  • Maintains user requests database, manages user requests database metrics

R&D Pipeline Internal and External Reporting

Supports 100% accurate and on-time deliverables of monthly corporate goals reporting, pipeline significant events for financial reporting

  • Drafts R&D portfolio & product development updates for key financial reports (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K annual report), quarterly earnings press releases

  • Establishes transparent and efficient business process for portfolio status reporting at the asset- and indication-level, capturing key life cycle & regulatory milestones

  • Supports Associate Director of Drug Development Portfolio Strategy Implementation and Reporting in planning, preparation, and crafting of the executive-level documents to facilitate effective discussions with the Science & Technology committee of the Board of Directors in partnership with senior-most GDD leaders, including development & reporting of annual portfolio corporate goals

  • Generates 'ad hoc' reports when required to address R&D pipeline-related requests across the enterprise.

  • Implements continuous process simplification for portfolio monitoring & reporting, including opportunities to automate external portfolio quarterly updates & validation as well as improve representation of the portfolio information
