Medical Science Liaison-Immuno-Oncology, Ontario

Requirements

PhD, PharmD or MD with at least 2-5 years of industry experience, preferably with a minimum of 2 years in the role of MSL or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Serve as a scientific liaison between Oncology professionals and internal BMS stakeholders through medical exchanges related to BMS products and associated therapeutic areas.

Meet and develop rapport with Oncology Health Care Professionals and maintain knowledge of their clinical practice, needs and interests.

Ensure that dissemination of data on BMS oncology products, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature is appropriately communicated in a scientific, efficient and timely manner.

Collect medical insights.

Provide input into the Regional Field Medical plan

Plan, organize and execute Regional Medical activities in collaboration with head office and cross functional teams.

Provide support to clinical trials in collaboration with Regional Clinical Operations.

Identify Investigator-Sponsored Research Trials (ISRs) as part of the strategy for the therapeutic area in Canada.

Keep abreast of key Oncology treatment trends and emerging science and ensure that information is shared with appropriate BMS departments.

Report adverse drug events in a timely manner as per BMS Policies & Directives.

Attend company and scientific meetings.

Reports to National Lead, Field Medical Oncology.

Competencies

Strong scientific acumen especially in oncology.

Superior verbal, written and presentation skills. Ability to deliver scientific/medical information to a diverse audience of both internal and external customers.

Ability to connect and establish rapport with internal and external customers including oncologists, researchers, pharmacists and other health care providers

Knowledge of clinical research in the field of Oncology including Good Clinical Practices and ethical, governmental and regulatory requirements as they relate to clinical research and to the pharmaceutical industry.

Understanding and framing of medical / research / scientific information in relation to the specific constraints and requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.

Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong work ethics and ability to manage multiple projects and unexpected issues that may arise.

Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Strong moral and ethical values.

Education

PharmD, MD or PhD in life sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with oncology knowledge and/or two to five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, biomedical sciences, clinical research, or medical information experience.

Other Requirements

Expected to travel 50-70 % of the time in Ontario, including Toronto and surrounding areas.

Must have a valid driver's license.
