Accountable for optimizing performance of the regional brokers and inbound carriers and associated metrics.
Ensuring BMS regional compliance with Customs and all others regulatory related and regulations to minimize risks of delays to shipments and possible fines.
Regional Customs & Trade Planning coordination designed to mitigate, pre- approve or defer duty and associated costs.
Relationship with regional Global Trade Compliance service providers (brokers, consultants and carriers) as well with local Airport/Port Customs & MoH authorities.
Support the development and implementation of Corporate policies, directives, procedures and processes for managing Customs compliance
Suggest, develop and coordinate training as needed.
Provide direct assistance to local operations at from the HUB to and the LATAM markets including preparation for Import /Export and other Customs Compliance related audits, projects and certifications.
Plays a key role in ensuring that the requirements and business processes associated with cross-border movements function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified and managed efficiently. A trade compliance job demands concentration on global customs regulation frameworks such as harmonized tariff schedules, customs valuations, import VAT rules, and various other matters.
Provide support for HUB Customs & Trade operations. Support a consistent, reliable, high quality, cost-effective and agile Regional Trade functionality. Support the development of the functional organization structure to meet the functional objectives of regional C&T in terms of cost, service and quality for both organizations (Commercial & R&D).
As a core member form of the GLS HUB and with responsibility for Customs & Trade,
Strongly support the local HUB operation, managing the broker implants and all the expenses related with Import/Export daily operations.
Act as HUB Customs & Trade representative and escalation point for issue resolution
Develop processes and revise and control the SAP approvals (Invoices, P.O´s, etc.) in order to act as filter for the Regional Management.
Share regional best practices and integrate and deploy the HUB with the new processes.
Establish appropriate Regional Trade leading to track metrics & performance of the brokers and inbound carriers.
Coordinate regional Supplier relationships with Regional Trade service providers to leverage their capabilities. Perform benchmarking with biopharma & pharma companies to gain access to the latest market innovations to maintain BMS position of Leading from the Front.
Ensure efficient import process execution
Lead regional C&T projects
Clinical Trials start-up and new product launch support.
KPI management, take action on performance indicators, deviations and corrections.
Interact with various departments across the organization (Commercial , R&D , Taxes , Finance , Security , Quality , etc)
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the regional practices where business is conducted.
