This position supports the Research and GPS (Global Product Development & Supply) functions at the BMS Biocon Research Centre (BBRC) located in Bengaluru, India. This role is responsible for managing this integrated, multidisciplinary research center - elements such as the aggregate BBRC budget, facilities management, HR, Safety, IT, Supply Chain, Instrumentation, Engineering and Compound Management. A key additional element of this role is driving the interface between BMS and our partners in Syngene-Biocon from contract alignment, relationship management and issue resolution. The selected leader will provides operational oversight for all BMS-dedicated employees (850) with direct oversight for 90 enabling function staff. This position will be part of the BMS Site Senior Leadership Team along with the BMS-Syngene Joint Steering Committee.

Expected competencies include:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated interactions with teams across different organizations, including external resources

  • Experience in project management techniques to effectively manage large number of independent projects

  • Strong people leadership skills, ability to work with and manage people/teams in a complex and culturally diverse organization

  • Agility to adapts in a changing environment to deliver value added results to the organization

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems/data and, through effective decision making and planning, deliver superior scientific solutions

  • Negotiation experience of contracts and partnerships to drive value creation for the company

  • Experience in working across geographic boundaries and a culturally diverse organization

Knowledge Desired:

  • An advanced degree (MBA, PhD) with relevant experience in managing large and diverse teams.

  • Degree in Business or Management is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate with key members of cross-sectional departments as well as outside partners.

  • Knowledge of the needs and requirements of partners in cross-functional departments.

  • Proven track record in project management.
